Job Description

We are looking for a committed Music Therapist to join our team in the Public School System. The selected candidate will utilize music therapy to help students overcome various emotional, physical, and social challenges. Your role will be pivotal in supporting students' well-being and educational success through creative therapy techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate music therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of students.
  • Evaluate student needs and devise individualized therapy strategies.
  • Document all sessions meticulously and adjust plans based on feedback and observations.
  • Engage with a multidisciplinary team to enhance student support.
  • Provide guidance to parents on how to support their children's progress at home.
  • Research and apply effective music therapy modalities.
  • Create a nurturing and safe therapeutic atmosphere.
  • Attend requisite training and continuing education sessions.
  • Be involved in community outreach to promote the benefits of music therapy.
  • Assist with program evaluations and contribute to outcome measurement.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy or related field
  • Certification as a music therapist from a recognised body is essential
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in music therapy, especially with children and adolescents.
