Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Pediatric Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric evaluations and treatment to children and adolescents with various mental health disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
  • Formulate and implement effective treatment strategies and plans.
  • Manage medication for patients, ensuring adherence and monitoring effects.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of treatment progress.
  • Adhere to regulatory and ethical standards set by professional bodies.
  • Facilitate education sessions for families to guide them through treatment processes.
  • Engage in clinical research and present findings at relevant conferences and workshops.
  • Participate in training programs and professional development initiatives.
  • Promote mental health awareness and literacy within the community.

Requirements

Education
  • Medical Degree (MBBCh)
  • Specialization in Psychiatry
  • Registration with HPCSA
Experience
  • 5+ years of Pediatric Psychiatry experience preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Advantageous
