Job Description

As a Hospitalist Medical Doctor, you will be delivering comprehensive medical care to in-patients in a hospital setting. Your role will encompass patient assessment, treatment planning, and coordination with healthcare teams to maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Co-create care strategies with other healthcare professionals to optimise patient health outcomes.
• Engage in patient education to promote better understanding of health conditions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements for patient care.
• Utilise electronic medical records effectively for patient documentation.
• Provide feedback on hospital practices and suggest improvements.
• Support discharge planning and handover processes for in-patients.

Requirements

Education

• Medical Degree (MBBCh or equivalent)
• Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a hospitalist role

Certifications

• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
