Insurance Claims Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Insurance Claims Specialist to join our Durban office. The successful candidate will assist clients in navigating the claims process, ensuring timely and accurate claim resolutions while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to all relevant insurance laws and regulations during claims processing.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis for complex claims.
• Work alongside legal advisors when necessary for claims disputes.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing claims processes.
• Prepare claims presentation for policyholder inquiries.
• Respond promptly to inquiries regarding claims status from clients and agents.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to remain updated on industry trends.
• Assist in developing educational materials for clients related to claims.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Insurance or Risk Management
• Further qualifications in claims management are beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in an insurance-related role

• Insurance Law

Certifications

• CII Certificate in Insurance
• FAIS Compliance Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Experience with Fraud Detection: Ability to identify and investigate fraudulent claims.
• Bilingual Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans.
