Job Description

Join our healthcare family as an Ophthalmological Assistant, where you will collaborate with ophthalmologists and support staff to provide high-quality eye care. You’ll play a crucial role in patient interactions, handling pre-operative preparations and post-operative care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary assessments and gather patient history prior to consultations.
  • Support ophthalmologists during diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Educate patients about eye care and the importance of regular check-ups.
  • Ensure the examination room is well-prepared and fully equipped for patient consultations.
  • Perform visual acuity tests and assist in the management of diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Document and update patient records in electronic medical systems accurately.
  • Assist in inventory management of ophthalmic supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with administration staff to streamline the clinic's operations.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with ophthalmic practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient experience.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant qualification in ophthalmic or optometric assistance
  • Additional certifications in ophthalmic procedures and tests highly desirable
Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous.
