Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Tour Coordinator to join our team. The Tour Coordinator will be responsible for planning and coordinating various aspects of tours, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service throughout the entire process.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive itineraries for varied tours, considering client preferences and logistical requirements.
• Deliver briefings to clients and tour guides before departures ensuring clarity on logistics.
• Respond to feedback and client inquiries swiftly, ensuring a high satisfaction rate.
• Oversee the execution of tours, ensuring all elements are aligned with the itinerary.
• Collect and analyze feedback post-tour to improve future offerings.
• Liaise with third-party service providers to ensure smooth operations.
• Develop relationships with local suppliers and attractions to secure the best deals.
• Promote special deals and new tours through social media and other platforms.
• Assist with financial tracking related to tours, including invoicing and payments.
• Train and mentor new staff members in tour coordination processes.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or Business Management
• Additional certifications relevant to tour operations are a plus.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a proven track record in customer service.

Technical Skills

• Excellent negotiation and networking skills
• Familiarity with budgeting and financial management

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration and leadership skills
• Attention to detail

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Multilingual candidates are preferred: Ability to communicate in languages like Zulu or Xhosa enhances client interactions.
• Previous travel experience in South Africa: Understanding local travel dynamics is advantageous.
