Career/Technical Education Teacher (Postsecondary)

Job Description

We are in search of a passionate Career/Technical Education Teacher who specializes in teaching accounting to postsecondary students. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles and the ability to develop engaging lesson plans that align with the South African National Curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging accounting lessons and workshops for diverse learning groups.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and encourage student participation.
• Coordinate with industry professionals to enhance the curriculum with real-world applications.
• Participate in curriculum development initiatives and adapt teaching methodologies accordingly.
• Create relevant and updated learning materials to support the curriculum.
• Implement project-based learning strategies to improve student engagement in accounting.
• Assist students with career advice and guidance in the accounting field.
• Conduct student evaluations and prepare reports on student progress.
• Stay informed about educational best practices and integrate them into daily lessons.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Teaching certification (PGCE or equivalent)

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience as an accounting teacher
