Job Description

We are in search of a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. This role involves designing, analyzing, and implementing engineering solutions that meet client specifications while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail in their engineering designs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production and assembly of mechanical components.
• Prepare and present engineering proposals to clients and management.
• Work with suppliers to source materials and components for projects.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
• Ensure that engineering designs are cost-effective and within budget.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure the highest standards of product excellence.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Thermodynamics

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Leadership

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in product development: Experience from concept through to production.
• Familiarity with ISO standards: Knowledge of ISO standards related to engineering and manufacturing.
