Job Description

As a Pharmacist at Local Pharmacy, you will ensure that our patients receive the highest standard of pharmaceutical care. Your role will involve educating patients, managing prescription medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to implement effective treatment plans. Responsibilities

  • Verify prescriptions and assess patients’ medication needs.
  • Educate patients on medication therapies and health management.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to optimise treatment plans.
  • Assist in managing pharmacy operations and staff schedules.
  • Monitor patient medication therapies for effectiveness.
  • Provide emergency care support when required.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
  • Implement safety measures to prevent medication errors.
  • Participate in team meetings and share best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent
Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting
Technical Skills
  • Dispensing Pharmaceuticals

Certifications
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council
Languages
  • English: Fluent
