Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Insurance Underwriter in Cape Town, where you will evaluate and assess risks for new and existing insurance policies. We're looking for a detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset who can determine policy terms and premiums effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks and develop appropriate insurance policies for individual and commercial clients.
• Interact with clients to explain policy coverage, terms, and conditions.
• Analyze data to identify trends and propose changes to underwriting strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive underwriting reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legislation pertaining to underwriting.
• Support the claims department when necessary by providing underwriting insights.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant Qualification in Insurance or Risk Management

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance field with a focus on underwriting

• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) Certification
