We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk levels, and determining appropriate coverage amounts. You will liaise with agents and clients to ensure a seamless underwriting process while adhering to company policies and regulations. A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed risk assessments and analysis of insurance applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance underwriting processes.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their insurance needs.
• Monitor market trends and adjust underwriting strategies as needed.
• Prepare internal documentation related to underwriting decisions.
• Review and update policy limits and coverage terms based on risk evaluation.
• Actively support marketing initiatives aimed at attracting new clients.
• Attend industry seminars and training sessions to enhance skills.
• Provide exemplary customer service to maintain client relationships.
• Assist in claims reviews where underwriting decisions are questioned.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field
• Certifications in underwriting or insurance preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related field
