Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous Forensic Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in financial investigations, auditing, and accounting principles. You will play a crucial role in uncovering financial discrepancies and supporting litigation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute in-depth forensic examinations of various financial records.
  • Analyze financial data to uncover hidden issues or fraudulent activities.
  • Prepare and present findings to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to leverage technology in investigations.
  • Lead forensic accounting investigations from inception to conclusion.
  • Stay informed about current industry trends and forensic accounting methodologies.
  • Advise clients on best practices for financial health and integrity.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and materials for client meetings.
  • Monitor changes to laws affecting financial compliance and reporting.
  • Support strategic initiatives to reduce financial crime risks.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master's degree in Financial Crime Investigation is a plus
Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in forensic accounting or fraud investigation

Certifications
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • Association of Certified Fraud Specialists (ACFS) is a plus
