Production Worker (Fractionating Still Operator)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Worker to operate and maintain fractionating stills at our Johannesburg refinery. The successful candidate will ensure optimal separation of petroleum components while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Control the operation of fractionating stills while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Perform regular inspections of tanks and pipelines.
• Adjust temperatures, pressures and flow rates as required.
• Collect and analyse data to ensure product quality.
• Participate in safety drills and training.
• Assist with the training of new operators.
• Communicate effectively with other team members regarding production statuses.
• Document all maintenance and operational activities.
• Identify areas for potential process improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Technical diploma or certification in petroleum refining

Experience

• At least 2 years experience in a petrochemical or oil refining environment.

Technical Skills

• Fractionation equipment maintenance
• SCADA systems

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Time management

Certifications

• HAZOP and safety management training

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of environmental practices: Familiarity with waste management and environmental regulations.
• Shift work experience: Prior experience working in a shift-based schedule preferred.
