Mental Health Counsellor

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Counsellor to join our dedicated team in Centurion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychology or counselling and be committed to providing support to individuals facing mental health challenges. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients to develop effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clients' needs and determine appropriate therapeutic approaches.
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
• Conduct follow-up evaluations to track progress and adjust treatment plans.
• Develop resources and tools for clients to foster independent coping strategies.
• Educate clients and families on mental health issues and treatment options.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary teams to create integrated care plans.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work
• Master's degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a mental health setting

• Therapeutic techniques

Certifications

• Certified Counsellor (SACSSP)
• Mental Health First Aid

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
