Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will engage in designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components while ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with various departments to support project execution and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems.
• Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards in project development.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables in coordination with project managers.
• Analyze system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop CAD models and prototypes for testing and evaluation.
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for engineering projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• SolidWorks
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Team collaboration

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng) certification
• Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with CAD software other than SolidWorks: Familiarity with alternative CAD tools such as CATIA or AutoCAD.
• Experience in project management: Prior experience managing engineering projects from conception to completion.
