Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be involved in various projects, ensuring structures are safe, sustainable, and economically viable. You'll work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop innovative solutions and ensure project deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural calculations to support design decisions.
• Create 3D models and simulations to visualise design objectives.
• Assist in project budgeting and cost estimation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure safety protocols are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with clients to understand their needs and present project progress.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• SAP2000

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with BIM technologies: Experience with Building Information Modeling tools for advanced design flexibility.
