Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our talented team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design and implementation. You will be involved in a range of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Evaluate new technologies and techniques within the electrical engineering field.
• Participate in risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure quality control at each stage of the engineering process.
• Prepare proposal documents and project plans.
• Mentor junior staff and provide training on best practices.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Develop strong relationships with clients to understand their needs.
• Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates.
• Report performance metrics and project outcomes to senior management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Honours degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in electrical engineering, preferably in a managerial role

• PLC Programming
• Energy Management Systems

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Certified Electrical Engineer (CEE)
• SAIEE Membership

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Renewable Energy Systems: Experience in integrating renewable energy solutions into electrical designs.
• Familiarity with Relevant Codes and Standards: Understanding of SANS and other relevant industry standards.
