Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Port Elizabeth. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality veterinary care and promoting animal welfare. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various veterinary procedures and the ability to work collaboratively with a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the community to assess public health needs.
• Develop and oversee health promotion strategies and educational programs.
• Coordinate health screenings and immunization drives.
• Evaluate public health policies and programs for effectiveness.
• Act as a liaison between the community and health organizations.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Develop grant proposals to secure funding for health initiatives.
• Train and support local health workers in best practices.
• Prepare educational resources on disease prevention and health promotion.
• Utilize technology to enhance public health communication.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or a related discipline
• Master's degree in Public Health is highly desirable

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in public health program management

Certifications

• Public Health Practitioner Certificate
