DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment processes, enhance scalability, and improve service reliability through automation and effective monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Drive the migration of applications to cloud environments.
• Develop cloud infrastructure using IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools.
• Perform regular backups and establish disaster recovery procedures.
• Optimize resource usage to control costs while ensuring performance.
• Support troubleshooting of infrastructure components.
• Engage in research to keep up with industry trends and advancements.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best coding practices.
• Be a part of on-call rotation to handle emergencies as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• Relevant certifications are highly regarded

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering or system administration with a focus on DevOps practices

Technical Skills

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Scripting Languages

Certifications

• Google Professional DevOps Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent
