Job Description

As a Structural Iron and Steel Worker at SteelWorks South Africa, you will be responsible for fabricating and erecting steel structures following engineering specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety standards, enabling you to contribute to large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate lifting equipment to transport steel materials.
• Complete daily logs and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Check measurements and alignments of steel frames to ensure precision.
• Load and unload materials as required on job sites.
• Interact with clients and contractors in a professional manner.
• Assist in emergency response procedures as necessary.
• Participate in safety training workshops and initiatives.
• Provide feedback on design improvements to engineering teams.

Requirements

Education

• Trade certificate in welding or metal fabrication

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in structural steel work

Technical Skills

• CNC Machinery Operation
• Safety Protocol Compliance

Soft Skills

• Effective Communication
• Adaptability

Certifications

• OSHA Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
