Construction Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee our projects in Durban. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of construction, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in managing construction teams and liaising with subcontractors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and teams.
• Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed on-site.
• Evaluate contractor performance and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of project progress and budgetary information.
• Facilitate regular meetings to review project status with teams and stakeholders.
• Implement best practices for resource management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in construction site management

Technical Skills

• Construction Safety Management
• Quality Assurance

Soft Skills

• Team Management
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Construction Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Building Codes: Understanding of local building codes and regulations.
• Experience with BIM Software: Knowledge of Building Information Modeling software.
