Job Description

Join our dynamic Urban Planning team as an Urban Planner where you will utilize your skills to contribute to vital projects in Cape Town. In this role, you will assess urban environments, develop land-use plans, and create sustainable designs that promote community well-being and environmental health.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives for urban developments.
  • Assess potential impacts of proposed developments on the community and environment.
  • Draft and revise planning policies and development guidelines.
  • Utilize GIS software for mapping and spatial analysis.
  • Support grant applications for funding urban development projects.
  • Work with local government to implement sustainable development practices.
  • Develop strategies for community revitalization and urban renewal.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess potential urban projects.
  • Utilize public input to refine project concepts and plans.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to ensure alignment with city planning goals.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in urban planning or related fields
