Job Description

As an Electroslag Welding Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of electroslag welding machines, ensuring quality and precision in joining metal components across various projects. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining production efficiency and upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Electroslag Welding (ESW) machines to join metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding procedures.
• Prepare workpieces by cleaning, aligning, and securing them.
• Monitor and adjust machine parameters to ensure proper welding conditions.
• Inspect welded joints and perform necessary rework or repairs.
• Maintain welding equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean working environment.
• Collaborate with team members to improve welding techniques.
• Document production and inspection records accurately.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Additional welding certifications preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in metal fabrication or welding

Technical Skills

• MIG and TIG Welding
• Troubleshooting

Soft Skills

• Physical Stamina
• Good Communication

Advantageous

• Additional welding certifications: Any further qualifications will be regarded as advantageous.
• Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing environment: Background in a similar industrial setting preferred.
