Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our thriving clinic in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating animals, performing surgeries, and collaborating with our veterinary team to provide exceptional care. Responsibilities

  • Carry out surgical interventions alongside veterinary technicians.
  • Discuss treatment options with pet owners transparently.
  • Provide post-operative care and follow-up consultations.
  • Document all medical procedures and treatments accurately.
  • Engage in team meetings to improve practice operations.
  • Stay updated on legislation and veterinary ethics.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and interns.
  • Assist in clinic administrative tasks as needed.
  • Promote preventative care and wellness programs.
  • Foster lasting relationships with pet owners and their pets.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or related field
  • Additional training in exotic animal care is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical veterinary practice
