Job Description

We are searching for a detail-oriented Underwriter to assess risks and determine terms of insurance policies. In this role, you will utilize your analytical skills to evaluate applications and make decisions, providing essential support to our clients and ensuring they have the right coverage to protect their assets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of insurance applications.
• Utilize actuarial data to inform underwriting decisions.
• Interact with brokers and agents to facilitate smooth processes.
• Mitigate risk through careful assessment and strategic policy crafting.
• Prepare reports on underwriting performance and risk assessments.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Advanced certification (e.g., CII) preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in underwriting within the insurance sector

Technical Skills

• Statistical Analysis
• Insurance Software Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter)
• CPCU Designation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Commercial Underwriting: Background in underwriting commercial insurance is considered a strong asset.
