Environmental Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate and driven Environmental Engineer to join our team in East London. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of environmental regulations and have a keen interest in sustainable practices. You will be responsible for managing projects that focus on waste minimization, pollution prevention, and ecological restoration. As part of our dynamic team, you will collaborate on innovative projects that aim to protect our environment while meeting the needs of our clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems for waste reduction and management.
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects with architects and engineers.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing environmental programs.
• Provide technical direction and support on environmental matters.
• Lead teams in planning and execution of environmental strategies.
• Create educational materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Advocate for sustainability initiatives within the community.
• Monitor and evaluate project performance and compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Master's degree in Environmental Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting

• Environmental Impact Assessments

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Certified Sustainability Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
