Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from conception through to completion.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for material procurement.
• Review project specifications and provide insights for improvement.
• Assist in the development of project proposals and bids.
• Coordinate site visits and inspections during project execution.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Utilize analytical skills to troubleshoot engineering challenges.
• Prepare and present findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis

Technical Skills

• CAE Software
• Thermodynamics

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Leadership

Certifications

• Certifications in Six Sigma or Total Quality Management

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Expertise in Materials Science: Understanding of material properties and selection for engineering applications.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Hands-on experience conducting simulations for stress and thermal analysis.
