Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Durban. This role involves providing therapeutic interventions, developing treatment plans, and supporting clients through their recovery journey. The ideal candidate will have experience in addiction counseling and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ needs and treatment goals.
  • Lead support groups and engage clients in discussions about their recovery.
  • Work with families to provide support and education on addiction issues.
  • Engage in outreach efforts within the community to promote services.
  • Attend training and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling or a related field
  • Master's degree in Addiction Studies is a plus
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in mental health or addiction counseling
