Cloud Solutions Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Solutions Architect who will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud solutions at our Johannesburg office. The role involves working closely with clients to understand and address their needs, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to create efficient and scalable cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement holistic cloud solutions that align with client objectives.
• Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to gather requirements and define solutions.
• Create migration plans from on-premises to cloud environments.
• Develop POCs for new technologies to validate their potential benefit.
• Establish security and compliance measures for cloud operations.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of cloud operations and architecture.
• Engage in cost management and optimization of cloud expenditure.
• Interact with vendors and service providers for cloud services.
• Identify opportunities for innovation in cloud services offered.
• Ensure cloud solutions are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud technologies and architecture design

Technical Skills

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Security Best Practices

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana): Familiarity with tools for performance monitoring and alerting.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments: Knowledgeable in working with multiple cloud platforms.
