Actuarial Analyst

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, assessing risk, and providing actionable insights to guide strategic decision-making. Your expertise in statistical analysis and financial modeling will contribute to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Utilize statistical programming languages to manipulate and analyze data
• Ensure accuracy by conducting quality checks on datasets
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings related to actuarial functions
• Perform ad-hoc analyses as needed by management
• Facilitate discussions with underwriting teams to improve risk assessment methodologies
• Analyze historical data to aid in the development of pricing strategies
• Contribute to the refinement of contingency planning
• Review actuarial assumptions and methodologies to enhance efficiency
• Maintain documentation of actuarial processes and procedures

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Master's degree or additional actuarial exams completed is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in actuarial or analytical roles
