Offshore Structural Engineer

Job Description

Join our innovative team as an Offshore Structural Engineer in Sandton. You will be responsible for the structural design of offshore facilities and ensuring the integrity of the structures against environmental loads.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute structural engineering studies for offshore projects.
• Ensure all designs meet safety and compliance standards.
• Work with external consultants and contractors during project phases.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality assurance processes.
• Create drawings and schematics using CAD software.
• Review and evaluate design proposals from vendors and subcontractors.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
• Participate in client meetings to present design proposals and progress updates.
• Document and archive project data for future reference and audits.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant offshore engineering experience

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Construction Monitoring

Soft Skills

• Leadership

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Knowledge of Renewable Energy Structures: Experience designing structures for offshore wind energy projects.
