IT Support Technician

Job Description

We seek a motivated IT Support Technician to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing efficient technical support to our internal staff and ensuring that all IT systems run smoothly. This position requires a strong understanding of troubleshooting, hardware and software installation, and the ability to communicate effectively with users.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while handling support inquiries.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers and peripherals.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
• Educate users on effective use of technology and best practices.
• Coordinate with external vendors for hardware repairs and replacements.

Requirements

Education

• BTech or equivalent in Information Technology
• Certifications in ITIL or similar would be a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a help desk or IT support role

Technical Skills

• Linux Operating Systems
• Remote Support Tools

Soft Skills

• Team Collaboration
• Adaptability

Certifications

• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Cloud Services: Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
• Basic Knowledge of Scripting: Understanding of basic scripting for automation tasks.
