This role is crucial in implementing safety measures and conducting risk assessments to mitigate hazards.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement safety training programs tailored for mining operations.
• Conduct safety drills to prepare for emergencies.
• Analyze incident reports and identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with HR in managing employee safety records.
• Facilitate communication regarding safety issues to all employees.
• Assist in the design of mining systems with safety in mind.
• Participate in safety committees to drive safety initiatives.
• Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations.
• Encourage employee suggestions for safety improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in safety compliance within the mining sector
