Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and engineering principles, and will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering solutions that meet our clients' specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Update engineering practices to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and trends.
• Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and resource allocations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related fields

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Prototyping

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Time Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles: Understanding of lean methodologies in manufacturing settings.
• Experience with Robotics: Knowledge in implementing robotic systems for automation.
