Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery that lays and compacts asphalt and other materials used in paving.

Responsibilities

• Ensure machinery is set up and calibrated correctly prior to operation.
• Assist with site measurements and layout before beginning work.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform emergency shutdown when required and report issues immediately.
• Participate in safety training and meetings as scheduled.
• Provide support to junior crew members as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate with technical subjects
• Technical qualification in a related field is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience operating paving equipment

Technical Skills

• CNC Machine Operation
• Asphalt Laying

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Flexibility

Certifications

• Operator’s License for Heavy Machinery
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment: Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations: Understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance.
