Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Veterinarian to join our team in Durban. Your role will involve diagnosing animal ailments, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care. You will work closely with clients to educate them on their pets’ health needs while focusing on compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the health of animals through examinations and diagnostics.
• Carry out surgical procedures efficiently and safely.
• Advise clients on proper care and treatment of their pets.
• Monitor the condition of patients post-surgery.
• Conduct research on animal health issues and participate in continuing education.
• Foster a caring and safe environment for pets and their owners.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science or a related qualification

Experience

• 1+ years in a veterinary practice

Technical Skills

• Preventative Care
• Anesthesia Administration

Certifications

• Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working with rescue and shelter animals: Background in working with animal shelters is a plus.
• Knowledge of animal behavior and training: Understanding of animal behavior principles is preferred.
