Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Public Health Specialist who is dedicated to enhancing community health through education, outreach, and intervention strategies. The successful candidate will develop and implement health programs that address critical public health issues and promote wellness in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Work with multidisciplinary teams to address complex public health challenges.
• Coordinate health education programs targeting various demographics.
• Facilitate partnerships between health organizations and community stakeholders.
• Conduct research on public health issues relevant to the community.
• Manage budgets for health programs and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Evaluate and report on the impact of public health initiatives.
• Draft proposals for new health programs and secure funding.
• Engage with the community to promote health literacy.
• Provide guidance on health policy formulation based on community needs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health or related field is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role

Certifications

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
