Job Description

As an IT Support Technician, your role involves assisting with the maintenance of our IT infrastructure while providing support to users in Port Elizabeth. You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing software, and ensuring all IT operations run smoothly. A hands-on approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support to employees in-person and remotely.
• Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Install and configure operating systems and software applications.
• Maintain and manage IT inventory and equipment.
• Support the implementation of IT policies and procedures.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Assist in user account management and permissions.
• Train users on new technologies and software.
• Document troubleshooting processes and solutions.
• Collaborate with the IT team to enhance system performance.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Information Technology or related field
• Degree in Computer Science preferred

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in IT support or helpdesk environment
