Job Description

We are searching for a knowledgeable Tax Consultant to join our Durban office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert tax advice, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored strategies that maximize their tax efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and ensure timely filings.
• Provide insights on tax-efficient structures for clients.
• Prepare forecasts and projections for tax liabilities.
• Conduct training for clients on tax obligations and compliance.
• Liaise with tax authorities as needed to resolve issues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional certification in Taxation is beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in taxation and compliance

Technical Skills

• Regulatory Knowledge
• Tax Software Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Client Management

Certifications

• Registered Tax Practitioner
• Professional Accountant (SA) is preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Pastel, SARS eFiling): Hands-on experience using accounting software for tax preparation.
