Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Structural Engineer who is passionate about building design and analysis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve innovative solutions that meet client expectations and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex structural projects and ensure quality delivery.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Utilize software tools for structural analysis and design.
• Conduct training sessions for team members on new software or practices.
• Participate in client meetings to gather requirements and feedback.
• Implement best practices for safety and quality assurance.
• Maintain documentation for all engineering processes and decisions.
• Create detailed reports on structural performance and analysis results.
• Work closely with construction teams to resolve any onsite challenges.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in large-scale projects

Technical Skills

• Revit
• Steel Design

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Leadership

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Management certification (if applicable)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams: Ability to effectively collaborate across disciplines.
• Knowledge of South African building codes: Familiarity with SANS 10160 and relevant regulations.
