Clinical Psychologist

Job Description

As a Clinical Psychologist in our organization, you will provide essential support to clients experiencing emotional and psychological challenges. You will be expected to engage in therapy sessions, supervise mental health support staff, and contribute to group therapy programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead therapeutic groups focused on specific client needs and issues.
• Compile assessment reports and provide comprehensive feedback to clients.
• Monitor client engagement and retention in therapy.
• Supervise junior clinical staff/students where applicable.
• Conduct research to inform best practices in mental health treatment.
• Engage in self-care practices to ensure personal well-being and effectiveness.

Requirements

Education

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology preferred

Experience

• Experience in trauma-informed care is ideal.

• Crisis Intervention

Certifications

• HPCSA Registration
• Additional Certification in Child Psychology

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

• Bilingual capabilities: Ability to provide therapy in both English and Afrikaans.
