Personal Care Aide

Job Description

We seek compassionate Personal Care Aides to assist patients with daily living activities, providing essential support and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidates will have a genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Help with meal preparation and feeding assistance for patients who require it.
• Provide companionship and engage in social activities to enhance patient wellbeing.
• Assist with mobility and transportation to help patients move around safely.
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to healthcare staff.
• Participate in team meetings and training to improve caregiving skills.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate or Diploma in healthcare or related field

Experience

• No prior work experience required, although relevant healthcare exposure is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
• Medical equipment use

Soft Skills

• Excellent Communication
• Compassionate Care
• Attention to Detail

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in a clinical or hospital setting: Prior experience assisting healthcare professionals in a clinical environment.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols: Understanding of hygiene practices to prevent infection.
