Job Description

As a Public Health Officer, you will play a vital role in shaping public health strategies that resonate with the community's needs. Your tasks will include examining health data, facilitating outreach programs, and collaborating with other health professionals to enhance public health education and interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate public health programs to ensure alignment with community needs.
  • Monitor disease prevalence and outbreaks in the community.
  • Utilize a variety of communication strategies to reach diverse audiences.
  • Facilitate community forums to engage residents in health discussions.
  • Provide guidance on health-related regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions on public health studies.
  • Support health equity initiatives by addressing social determinants of health.
  • Develop strategic plans for emergency health responses.
  • Engage with local media to raise awareness of public health issues.
  • Train volunteers and staff on health advocacy and programming.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Master's degree in Public Health or a related field is highly desirable
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in community engagement or public health management

Certifications
