Job Description

As the Emergency Management Director, you will oversee the development and execution of emergency plans, ensuring organizational readiness for any crisis. Your leadership will be key in fostering a culture of safety within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, training, and coordination of emergency response efforts.
  • Establish partnerships with local governments and private sector entities.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on disaster recovery operations.
  • Ensure timely communication of emergency alerts and updates.
  • Advocate for resources and funding to enhance emergency management capabilities.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of response plans post-incident.
  • Develop educational materials and outreach programs for community awareness.
  • Maintain emergency equipment and resources for operational readiness.
  • Facilitate community meetings to discuss safety issues and garner input.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in emergency management.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field
  • Master's degree or equivalent is preferred
Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in emergency management or related fields
Technical Skills
  • Incident Command System (ICS)
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

  • National Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) Certification
