Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software will be crucial in this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements according to IFRS.
• Ensure timely submission of VAT returns and compliance.
• Analyze financial discrepancies and initiate corrective actions.
• Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Additional qualifications (CIMA or ACCA) are a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in a relevant accounting position
