Wind Energy Development Manager

Job Description

The Wind Development Director will manage the entire lifecycle of wind energy projects, from initial site selection through to construction. This role requires strong project management capabilities, as well as a solid understanding of renewable energy regulations in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of wind energy projects, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Foster collaboration across different teams and disciplines to facilitate successful project delivery.
• Conduct market research to identify potential project sites and investment opportunities.
• Ensure all regulatory requirements and permits are obtained for project execution.
• Liaise with local communities to promote sustainable practices and address concerns.
• Implement project management software to streamline processes and documentation.
• Evaluate and mitigate any environmental impacts associated with project development.

Advantageous

• Fluency in an additional South African language: Ability to communicate in Afrikaans, Zulu, or Xhosa.
• Experience with community engagement: Prior experience in interacting with local communities and stakeholders.
