Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety policies to ensure compliance with national standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage health and safety compliance audits and documentation.
• Provide expert advice on health and safety issues.
• Educate staff about potential hazards and incident reporting procedures.
• Manage the safety training schedule and maintain training records.
• Prepare and present health and safety training sessions.
• Conduct workplace safety assessments and implement corrective actions.
• Review and update emergency response plans.
• Assist in health and safety budgeting and resource allocation.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff regarding safety matters.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Management or related field
• Recognized safety qualifications such as SAMTRAC or similar

Experience

• 3-5 years experience in a health and safety role

Technical Skills

• Environmental Health
• Incident Investigation

Certifications

• Occupational Health and Safety Certification
• Registered Safety Officer Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
