Prepress Technician

Job Description

As a Prepress Technician, you'll take charge of preparing and fine-tuning digital files for print. You'll work closely with graphic designers to ensure that the artwork not only meets but exceeds the printing standards. With a keen eye for detail, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality print outputs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preflight checks of files to ensure they are print-ready.
• Collaborate with designers and production staff to troubleshoot and rectify issues.
• Maintain an organized digital archive of all print-ready files.
• Train junior staff on prepress processes and best practices.
• Work with various printing techniques, ensuring adaptability and understanding of different materials.
• Regularly review and implement new techniques in the prepress process.
• Maintain accurate records of all jobs processed and completed.
• Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of prepress software.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Graphic Design or a related field
• Certifications in relevant prepress technologies are advantageous

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in prepress or a related printing role
