Mining Engineer

Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Mining Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mining processes and have a track record in optimizing resource extraction. This role requires problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges in mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop resource estimation models and mine plans.
• Utilise CAD and other software for designing mine layouts.
• Conduct geological mapping and sampling.
• Assist in budgeting and resource allocation.
• Evaluate new technologies and methods for mining operations.
• Foster a culture of safety and efficiency among the team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related disciplines
• Membership in the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience with a focus on mining operations

Technical Skills

• Data analysis
• CAD software proficiency

Certifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
