Allied Health Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking an Allied Health Therapist to provide therapeutic services that improve patient outcomes and contribute to an evidence-based healthcare environment in Bloemfontein.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations to determine patient needs and develop treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support therapy interventions.
• Work alongside healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient assessments and progress notes accurately.
• Educate patients on health promotion and injury prevention.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions as part of rehabilitation.
• Assist in managing patient discharge planning.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Experience

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting

Technical Skills

• Therapeutic Techniques
• Documentation

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Empathy

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
• CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in a hospital or rehabilitation environment: Hands-on experience in a clinical setting, providing therapy services.
• Knowledge of assistive technology: Familiarity with the use of assistive devices in therapy.
